Last week’s ceremony was officiated by Mayor Christine Henderson and attended by federal Member for Bendigo Lisa Chesters.
New citizens making the pledge came from Indonesia, Italy, South Africa and the United Kingdom.
Cr Henderson said she was proud the citizens had chosen Mount Alexander Shire as their home.
“Each individual has undergone a lengthy citizenship process, and strong commitment to Australian values and culture,” she said.
New citizens were presented with a certificate and native plant.
The ceremony was the third held in the shire this year.
A total of 17 new citizens have taken the pledge.
Citizenship ceremonies have also been held recently in Bendigo and Loddon Shire.
Thirty-one new Australians were welcomed in Bendigo at a ceremony last month, while eight new citizens took the pledge at a ceremony in Pyramid Hill.
Loddon Shire mayor Gavan Holt said all were valued members of the community who have already entrenched themselves in the area.
