A large unexploded shell from World War II has been found on a building site in west London, forcing the evacuation of hundreds of shoppers from a nearby Westfield shopping centre.

Shoppers were gathered outside Shepherd's Bush underground station after the bomb was found, a day after the 10-year anniversary of the London terrorist attacks on July 7, 2005.
The Tube station has been placed in lockdown.
Shoppers frantically left the building as word spread about the discovery.
The police issued a statement saying: "Police are dealing with an unexploded shell in White City."
"At 10.41hrs on 8 July, police were informed of the discovery of the large unexploded shell at a building site at Ariel Way, White City, W12.
"The Westfield Shopping Centre and a non-residential building at the location have been evacuated as a safety precaution. There is also serous disruption to roads in the area and local train stations are also affected."
An army disposal bomb team has been called in.
The road and rail network has been suspended as the bomb team inspect the device.
