Although the match is on the Eagles’ turf, Bendigo will be confident of capturing maximum points.
Springvale has achieved just one victory this season and is ninth in the 10-team east conference.
The Bendigo City line-up chalked up its fifth win last round on home turf at Epsom-Huntly Reserve.
A 3-0 win against Brunswick City was one of Bendigo’s best performances of the season.
Riley Dillon struck both goals before half-time and playing coach Greg Thomas was on target midway through the second half.
Not conceding a goal was a factor that Thomas was rapt about.
“We have been scoring goals and creating chances, but given up too many goals, especially late in games.”
The goal for Bendigo is to achieve back-to-back wins for the first time.
Despite the Eagles’ record, Thomas said the squad expected a fierce contest.
“We know it won’t be easy, especially in an away game.”
Thomas said the play of youngsters Sam Scoble in attack and Joe Williams at right-back had been among many positive signs as the season has rolled on.
“They bring a lot of energy to the team.”
Classy midfielder Corey Slevin will play a key role in setting up or finishing off attacks.
The day’s play at White Eagles Stadium in Keysborough kicks off at 1pm when the under-20s do battle.
The Nathan Claridge-coached Bendigo City under-20s are on the rebound from a 2-1 loss to the fifth-placed Brunswick City.
Bendigo City’s leading goalscorer is Josh Dwyer on seven.
Eh Soo Seven and Godwill Basha have struck three goals apiece in the under-20s championship action.
The seniors match between Springvale and Bendigo City FC starts at 3pm.
