Ballarat had gone into the clash with just one win from its first 11 matches, but the Rush had a sniff of a second victory when they were within six points of the Lady Braves going into the final quarter.
But the Lady Braves were quick to kill off the contest, going on a 12-3 run to start the final term en route to an 83-68 victory at the Bendigo Stadium.
The victory was just the Lady Braves’ second in their past seven games, with their record now at 4-5.
One of the standout features of the Lady Braves’ performance was their shooting at the foul line.
The Lady Braves nailed 23 of their 24 free-throws, while Ballarat struggled at the line, making just 6-of-14.
Kerryn Harrington - who missed Bendigo's sole free-throw - led the Lady Braves with 22 points.
In her first game back from Opals duties overseas, Kelly Wilson added 18 points.
Stephanie Bairstow spent all 40 minutes on court in scoring 17 points to go with 10 rebounds.
Fellow import Stacia Robertson also had a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds.
The Lady Braves host Frankston next Sunday.
