Strathfieldsaye Junior Football Club will use its grant to update its first-aid kit.
“We’re obviously very grateful for this support with the grant,” club president Mark Pittock said.
“Things like first-aid... if you get assistance with upgrading it, it’s fantastic.”
South Bendigo Football-Netball Club president Rick Townsend said the Bloods were likely to use their grant to buy a new set of senior and junior jumpers.
“One of the things we’re looking at doing is replacing our senior and junior jumpers, so this will help with that,” Townsend said.
Thursday’s funding was announced by Bendigo West MP Maree Edwards and Bendigo East MP Jacinta Allan.
“These grants are fantastic because not only do they encourage more sports and recreation activity, they also provide that real sense of community that comes from being part of a local club,” Edwards said.
In total, 296 Victorian clubs - including 160 regional - will receive funding in this round totalling $690,000.
