One Bendigo resident appears to have had enough and has taken matters into their own hands by issuing warnings to dog owners who neglect to pick up after their pooch along the Spring Gully trail near Havlin Street.
The mystery vigilante has taken a facetious approach to the faeces problem by painting the offending poo pink and writing passive aggressive missives on the pathway, imploring people to pick up after their pets.
Pink poos dotted the trail on Tuesday morning, alongside messages such as "responsible dog ownership starts here".
The number two avenger has council bylaws on their side - it is mandatory for Bendigo pet owners to carry a bag or pooper scooper to collect and remove droppings left by their dogs in any public place.
But no matter how just their cause, the crap crusader could face penalties also.
Simply possessing a spray paint can with the intention of marking graffiti can attract a maximum fine of $3690.25.
