The annual event has drawn more than 2500 starters to the course at Heinz Street in White Hills.
“Many students from across the region look forward to this event each year, it caters for students of all abilities as each age group has a variety of levels” said event convenor Wendy Ennor.
The event is organised annually by the Bendigo Physical Education committee.
Winners from the top divisions will represent the Bendigo area at the state championships in Melbourne.
Students run in their age groups.
Youngest age group is eight-years.
Each age group is in four divisions - blue, red, green and yellow.
First four in the premier blue division earn the chance to race at the state titles later in the year.
Age groups are 8-years, 9-years, 10-years, 11-years and 12-years.
Younger students cover a 2km track.
The older age groups run along a 3km track.
First events are at 10.30am when the 10-year-old boys charge down the straight.
Finale is the 12-year-old girls from about 2.15pm.
The event is the biggest participation event for primary students in the region.
