RECENTLY I emailed all councillors in regards to the business plan for the new 50-metre pool not having enough time to be looked at thoroughly. To my amazement it was launched the very next day... which was fantastic.

All councillors responded to my email about my concerns on the same day as well, with Lockwood ward councillor Elise Chapman saying once the the business plan was available she would look closely and make an educated decision on the pool being 50 metres.
The fact the Kangaroo Flat Community Enterprise is willing to work hard to raise $1 million towards the project, as stated by chairman Jack Lyons, gives this project even more legs to go ahead.
The only thing now is for the councillors in their wards to come to Bendigo , Kangaroo Flat, Golden Square, Lockwood, Mandurang and Maiden Gully and ask the community what they think of the pool only being passed as a 25 metres instead of the 50-metre pool as passed by the council for the permit to build some months ago.
Everyone I talk to thinks a 25-metre pool is just a waste of time, considering for $ 3 million more you could have a pool double the size. Just ask Ballarat what happened to their 25-metre pool... it's now 50 metres. Let's not make the same mistake as Ballarat.
