One of many talented youngsters in the Magpies' line-up, Huntly has played a key role in this season's senior football action.

Vice-captains of the Bendigo Football League's under-18 team are Strathfieldsaye's Jake Moorhead and Gisborne's Shannon Rooth.

Strathfieldsaye's senior coach Darryl Wilson is in charge of the under-18 team.

A premiership-winning coach of Storm's senior team in 2014, Wilson said the league's under-18 representatives had worked hard to prepare for a step up in pace and intensity.

"Our ability to win at stoppages and quick movement of the footy will be important," Wilson said.

"Quite a lot of our team have played senior football this season and have played well."

Saturday's under-18s match starts at 11.30am.
