More often than not, if I write about a company rather than a game, it’s because that company has gone broke or been closed down by their parent company.
This is why it is such a pleasure to announce that The Gamesmen, the independent video game retailer in Sydney and Wollongong, has made it to 30. Considering that even major international chain Game couldn’t stay in business in Australia, this is an impressive feat.
It’s even more impressive when you think that this is a company that has been owned and run by the same family since it first opened its doors 30 years ago.
Not surprisingly, The Gamesmen will be celebrating this milestone, offering store-wide discounts and other freebies at their Penshurst store. They will also have a Delorean on show, and shoppers will have the chance to have a photo taken in this geek icon.
Shoppers can also check out the store’s mini-museum, covering gaming history over the past 30 years. If you’re interested, you can check out the details on their website.
