OTIS Foundation Bendigo's Carlie Ryan said it was a long road to get to this point but exciting times lay ahead.
"As you can imagine we are all very eager to see our plans come to fruition," she said.
"Our partnership with Paul Gray Builders to create this retreat in memory of Kerri Gray is beginning to take shape.
It is incredibly moving and, of course, very exciting.

"It is incredibly moving and, of course, very exciting.
"As I understand it, once the frame is erected, the construction side of things really progresses quite quickly.
"While we are familiar with the plans, the enormity of the project is really starting to hit home.
"Our focus is now about raising the funds required to furnish this huge family retreat.
"We are hoping construction will all be complete this Spring."
Mrs Ryan said it was integral to get the funding so the house was completed on time.
"It's important that we are ready to fit it out as soon as possible and welcome our guests," she said.
"We've actually already had two guests request a booking for Kez's Hideaway when it is complete."
The retreat will add to the portfolio of properties across three states that the OTIS Foundation will provide at no cost to women living with breast cancer and their families.
The community can assist to furnish Kez’s Hideaway via a ‘virtual build register’ where contributions to purchase household items to any value can be made or corporate businesses can register their support.
