Past and present Bulldogs players and supporters will gather at Mitchell Park this weekend for two days of celebrations.
The highlight will be the launch of a book outlining the club’s history.
Pyramid Hill players will wear a commemorative jumper, with all guerneys to be auctioned off at Saturday night’s gala dinner.
The Bulldogs belted Calivil United by 106 points the last time the two sides met, but coach Paul Grayling expects a far tougher test on Saturday.
“We want to win every game we play, but we’ve touched on it this week that we want to win our first home game of the year with the added bonus of the 125th anniversary celebrations,’’ Grayling said.
“It’s not going to be easy. We respect what Calivil has done this season – they are a new and improved side from what we’ve seen the past couple of years.
“We want to focus on the way we want to play footy and, hopefully, we can get away with a win.”
At the other end of the table, winless Newbridge and Mitiamo clash in a crucial contest at Terry O’Shea Riverside Oval.
Even at this early stage of the season the loser of this game faces a huge task to make the top five.
At Bridgewater, the reigning premiers should have few troubles accounting for Inglewood.
The Blues scored a confidence-boosting win over Mitiamo last week, but they don’t have the class to go with Bridgewater over four quarters.
In the final game of the round, Bears-Lagoon Serpentine should score its second win of the season when it hosts YCW.
