Members are seeking information about the driver of a white Toyota Camry seen driving erratically along the Calder Highway near Maiden Gully about 3pm.
The vehicle model is late 1980s to early 1990s and was displaying a green P-plate.
Bendigo Highway Patrol Senior Constable Bill Edwards said members attempted to intercept the vehicle but it drove off. It is unknown the number of occupants.
Meanwhile, police are also seeking information about the driver of a white Hyundai excel which failed to stop during an intercept on Sparrowhawk Road, Long Gully about 3.50pm.
The car was last seen travelling down Humboldt Drive. The driver was male and the sole occupant.
About 30 minutes later, the vehicle was seen travelling towards Bendigo.
