Mr McMullin will discuss his book Farewell Dear People: Biographies of Australia's Lost Generation.
The book was awarded the National Cultural Award for its outstanding contribution to the quality of Australian cultural life in 2013.
Bendigo Library adult programs coordinator Sue Mooney said evaluations of the Great War have traditionally focused on the sheer numbers of lives lost and not the individuals.
"In Farewell Dear People, Ross McMullin wanted to find out some of the personal stories behind the number of lives lost in World War One," she said.
"He focused on ten outstanding soldiers, among them an architect, a winemaker, a footballer and a medical researcher of international acclaim."
Mr McMullin will be at the Eaglehawk Library from 1.30pm to 3pm and the Heathcote Library from 5.30pm to 7pm. Hi discussion will be followed by a book signing and refreshments.
