The Bendigo Regional YMCA have thrown its support behind the women's football club and have come on board as a new sponsor.
YMCA chief executive officer Michael Bailey said the growth of women's football in the region was a testament to the work done by the Thunder to promote the sport.
"The journey of the club from its inception to where it is today is a true inspiration," he said.
"We are proud to support the Bendigo Thunder and believe the club is playing a vital role in the local community by promoting wimen in sport to young girls in regional Victoria."
Bendigo Women's Football Club chairman Chris Coughlan said he believes the partnership between the YMCA and the club would help to promote the game in Bendigo.
"The Bendigo YMCA has such a positive influence in the local community and our partnership with the Y is going to continue strengthening not only the girls on the field, but also our club, which will ultimately lead to another successful season," he said.
As part of the new sponsorship, Bendigo Thunder players will be involved in the YMCA's school breakfast program, which feeds about 25,000 students each year.
Bendigo Thunde will take on North Geelong in its first VWFL division one match on April 12 at Kangaroo Flat Reserve at 12pm.
