THE Power started the season with a bang, defeating Strathale-Maristians in round one.
But that would be one of just four wins the Power savored.
Apart from a day out against Sandhurst in round 11 when they crunched the BDCA’s highest score of 352, the Power had all sorts of problems with the bat.
None more so than day one of round 12 when they were bowled out for 31 in what became an outright loss to White Hills.
The Power only made more than 200 twice and had only three players make scores above 50.
Recruit Adam Ward lived up to the reputation he joined the Power with.
In 14 innings, Ward cracked six scores above 50, but couldn’t convert any into a century, with his highest score 81, while he was also outstanding with the ball in taking 30 wickets.
After a lean start, captain Josh Collinson finished strongly with the bat to join Ward in earning a berth in the BDCA’s Team of the Year.
Challenging times ahead for the Power, with resurrecting their under-18 team a must for the club’s future.
