CITY of Greater Bendigo councillor Helen Leach has referred fellow councillor Mark Weragoda to a Councillor Conduct Panel with the Municipal Association of Victoria in relation to a drink driving offence.

Cr Weragoda was caught drink driving on March 6, losing his license for blowing .125.
Cr Leach said she was disappointed with Cr Weragoda's behaviour.
"I'm extremely disappointed that lives could have been put at risk with this behaviour," she said.
"I have been advised that it could be a breach of councillor code of conduct around honesty and integrity."
Cr Weragoda initially denied he committed the offence when questioned by the Bendigo Advertiser, but later admitted it.
