THEY say winning form is good form.
But only one of Bendigo United or Eaglehawk will go into next week’s Bendigo District Cricket Association semi-finals on the back of a round 12 win.
On the final day of the home and away season on Saturday, Bendigo United is defending a meagre score of 119 against the Hawks, who will resume at 1-14 at Harry Trott Oval.
An Eaglehawk win will ensure the Hawks finish third and play Bendigo United again in a semi-final the following week.
If Bendigo United wins, the Redbacks can still finish on top of the ladder.
At Glen Loddon Homes Oval, White Hills already has the points in the bag after going to stumps at 9-173 after a dominant first day in which it bowled Huntly-North Epsom out for a paltry 31.
With its finals hopes now officially over, Kangaroo Flat will chase ladder-leader Strathdale-Maristians’ 7-233 at All Seasons Oval.
And Bendigo will defend 252 against Golden Square at MyJet Oval.
Strathfieldsaye last week defeated Sandhurst by 97 runs to sew up its finals berth.
Saturday’s play starts at 1pm.
