Luke Goggin Real Estate sales manager Paul Dalton said his agency had gone from having more houses than buyers in November and December to having more buyers than houses in January.
Mr Dalton said his agency was now selling homes at the maximum end of the price range.
He said a Kangaroo Flat home recently priced between $335,000 and $360,000 sold for $360,000. Likewise a Flora Hill home priced between $320,000 and $335,000 sold for $335,000.
Mr Dalton said many of these sales were also extremely quick, sometimes within a day.
He said such success came down to vendors' efforts to clean, de-clutter and major minor improvements to their home before sale.
"If it's presented right, (potential buyers) don’t turn around a say 'that bedroom is too small'," he said.
Select Property Group's Vin Wiegard said property sales increased in the past three weeks but he could not put his finger on why.
"But driving around there’s a lot of properties that have been on the market for quite some time and now they have got sold stickers on the boards," Mr Wiegard said.
Doug Lougoon from Doug Lougoon For Real Estate said his open for inspection events were being well attended by a good mix of home buyers and investors.
PRD Nationwide director Tom Isaacs said the post-Christmas market was brought on by strong consumer confidence.
