Photographic exhibition Every Greyhound Has a Story features the work of Australian photographer Josh Robenstone and focuses on the unique stories of adopted greyhounds.
The exhibition was initially scheduled to run from tomorrow until February 27, but Dudley House was notified this afternoon the exhibition would not go ahead. Advertisements in the Bendigo Advertiser promoting the exhibition have also been pulled from tomorrow's newspaper.
“Over the past 12 months the Every Greyhound Has a Story Exhibition series has showcased the beautiful greyhound breed and has helped many find new homes," general manager of marketing and communications at GRV Campbell Davies said.
"It is unfortunate we have had to cancel in this current environment.
"We hope to bring the exhibition back to Bendigo as soon as possible.”
The cancelling of the exhibition comes after an ABC Four Corners investigation into greyhound racers allegedly secretly blooding their dogs with live bait.
The program played snippets of hundreds of hours of secret surveillance footage showing live piglets, rabbits and possums being mauled and used as live bait to turn greyhounds into blood-thirsty winners with an illegal and unfair edge.
Since the Four Corners' allegations, a number of sponsors have pulled out of the greyhound industry.
