Friday's heavy downpours were much-needed in so many parched areas to all parts of the compass from Bendigo.
In just a matter of minutes the City of Greater Bendigo was awash.
Unfortunately there was flooding of some homes, businesses and on roads in various suburbs.
Yet again it was the emergency services, whether it be State Emergency Service, Police, Ambulance, Fire, or family, workmates and neighbours who were quickly on the scene to assist.
More heavy rain is forecast over the next few days, so it is imperative to be aware of the risks.

As tempting as it may be, do not go swimming in flooded streets, creeks or streams.
There are many hazards below the surface.
Slow down on the roads and be aware of the conditions and hazards.
Driving to the conditions is imperative, especially after such a lengthy break since heavy rain fell, and when the bitumen is greasy.
Wherever you go and whatever you do, be careful.
