TO CLARIFY my statement in Saturday’s Bendigo Advertiser in regard to the Bendigo Chinese Precinct, “Ms Jack hadn’t previously communicated her concerns to the council.”

I meant that she had not communicated her concerns to Councillors.
Ms Jack has been advocating on behalf of the Chinese Association for a number of years.
What is now important is that all the assets are audited and that safety and required maintenance of the precinct is a high priority.
I apologise to Ms Jack for misrepresenting the situation.
