Jesse Noden, 23, joined his father, Peter, and grandfather, Keith, as winners of the open mile (1600m). Keith did so in 1991, and Peter in 2011.
After starting from the 195m mark, Noden raced to victory in 4:24.54.
Peter Noden and another Bendigo athlete, Jacob Nolan were sixth and seventh in the open mile.
Tom Noden, 17, raced off the 64m mark and was runner-up in the novice 400m in 46.96.
Bendigo's Greg Hilson won the open 400m at Ararat. Hilson started on the 57m mark and won in 48.45. His South Bendigo clubmates, Glenn Stephens and Dane Heiden were seventh and eighth.
Next major event on the Victorian Athletics League circuit is Maryborough's Highland Gathering on New Year's Day at Princes Park.
