Bridegroom’s name: Dallas Widdicombe
Wedding date: October 11, 2014
The meeting:
Dallas and I met when I was working with his mum. We became friends and then ended up dating a few years later.
The proposal:
Dallas proposed after preparing a beautiful dinner one quiet night in Balgo. I said yes immediately.
The wedding day:
The ceremony and reception were held at Chateau Dore in Mandurang. Everything went to plan and the day was perfect! We celebrated our marriage in the garden with our friends and families.
I told Dallas I wouldn't be late and I almost beat the guests to the ceremony. As the bridal cars pulled up, the bus was still unloading the guests so we had to go around the block to fill in some time.
Dallas was supported by Simon Marwood and Seb Ennis, Aden Eltchelebi, Xavier Ennis and Luke Martin and I had my sister Georgia Martin, Kristy Summerhayes, Chelsea Rutledge and Amy Geary. Our junior bridesmaid was Dallas' sister Toyah and our nephew Isaac was the page boy.
I walked down the aisle to Like This by Al Parkinson and the ceremony was performed by Kate Hingston.
After the ceremony, we had drinks on the lawn and loved chatting with our guests. We had our speeches on the lawn as the sun was setting and it was a really relaxed and fun atmosphere.
The guests then moved inside to enjoy the live music and the dessert bar which included cakes made by my Nana. Nicole, Glenn and the staff were wonderful and ensured we had the best day.
The dress:
My dress was from Raffaele Ciuca in Brunswick. It was an ivory colour dress with a lace overlay that led into a fish tail. The illusion lace neckline plunged into a deep V back. Jenna Elliott from Hair Retreat did an amazing job with our hair and Melinda Keighran did the bridal party's make up.
The Cake:
Our cake was made by Corrine Bailey from Sweet Moment Cakes located in Sea Lake and matched our theme beautifully. It included cupcakes (white chocolate and raspberry) and a chocolate mud cake with ganache. The cake stand was made by my brother, Luke and the flowers were supplied by Jenny Simpson from Farmyard Flowers in Sea Lake.
The photographer:
Kiss Me Hello, Lauren from Echuca.
The honeymoon:
We’re yet to go on a honeymoon as we flew back to Balgo Community (located in remote Kimberley, WA) for work. We have plans to honeymoon in January.
