THE Victorian Labor Party will hold a caucus meeting on Wednesday to decide cabinet members and will pick portfolio positions on Thursday.
The Andrews Government is expected to be sworn in on Thursday, when portfolios will also be announced.
Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan said she looked forward to getting to work in the new government.
"It is a great honour to be a part of an Andrews Government and I will serve any role that my party requires," she said.
Ms Allan said she was "not in a position" to discuss potential senior government positions.
Victorian Farmers Federation president Peter Tuohey said Ms Allan is his "preferred choice" as Agriculture Minister.
She served as the Shadow Minister for Agriculture, Regional and Rural Development and Regional Cities during the previous term of government.
Ms Allan said regional Victoria had "born the brunt of Napthine government cutbacks" over the last four years.
"The most important thing is that regional Victoria has members that are on their side, something they never had under the previous government," she said.
Premier-elect Daniel Andrews announced his deputy James Merlino would become Education Minister during his acceptance speech on Saturday night.
Ms Allan said Mr Merlino, who served as Deputy Opposition Leader under Daniel Andrews, had done a "terrific job" in opposition.
"He provided strong support to Daniel as the leader and ran a strong campaign in the education portfolio," she said.
Tim Pallas is likely to become Victorian treasurer.
Mr Andrews has insisted he will choose his cabinet, rather than factional leaders.
