Then known as the Bendigo School of Domestic Arts, it was specifically established to provide secondary Education for local teenage girls.
Today it is called Bendigo South East Secondary College (BSE).
With a rich history spanning the last century, and numerous name changes - Bendigo Girls’ School, Flora Hill Girls’ School, Flora Hill High School, and Flora Hill Secondary School - this institution has a fascinating and important local story to tell.
To record the school’s history fully, I need help from past students and staff who attended or worked at any of the six entities.
If you would like to aid me to write the history of your school, please contact me to receive a questionnaire designed to capture your memories of all aspects of your school days.
You have the option to be interviewed by me too.
The loan of photographs would also be appreciated.
Even if you are not a past students or staff member, but know people who were, you can help by passing on my contact details. All the information collected will be used to write a complete history of this wonderful local institution. (I am a proud ex-student myself).
This book will be launched in August 2016, to mark the school’s centenary.
The BSE College Council fully endorses this project.
An electronic version of the questionnaires will also be made available on the BSE website - www.bse.vic.edu.au
I look forward to being contacted by many past students and staff on michelematthews62@hotmail.com and thank you all in advance for your invaluable assistance.
