The club introduced a bowling academy last year, with St Theresa’s, Quarry Hill and St Joseph’s Primary Schools all participating in the initiative.
This year, club officials altered their format, with organiser Paul McCaskill saying it was a step in the right direction.
Several on field games were introduced, all of which incorporated the skills required for bowling.
McCaskill said the program was designed to expose the game of bowls to younger generations.
Josh Thornton from Bowls Victoria helped the club put on an exciting and fun-filled program.
Members Joy Warfe, Julie Tynan, Davod Conley, Phil Brown, John Hayes and Don Challinor all passed on their experience and knowledge of bowls to the participating school students.
“Next year it is our intention to have schools competing against one another in a bowls game event,” McCaskill said.
“If anyone wanted to further develop their skills then South Bendigo is only too happy to give them the expert tuition that is required.”
McCaskill said club members were available on Wednesday’s between 4pm and 5pm.
