The father-of-four was killed in a speed boat accident in Sydney's north just over two weeks ago.
The Bare Your Soul for Baker fundraiser will consist of a series of 20 minute workout sessions held every half-an-hour during the day, from 5.45am to 7pm at CrossFit Dauntless.
Organiser and close friend of Mr Baker Kim Stevens said it would be the first time the city's fitness instructors banded together in support of a cause.
"We are hoping to get 1000 people to a workout. The sessions are designed for all fitness levels," he said.
Mr Stevens said businesses had donated items for a silent auction at 7pm. Money raised will go to the Baker family.
Mr Stevens said he would remember Mr Baker as a loving and compassionate man, who "above all was a man of family".
"We want to show how big a family the community is by supporting Joanne and the girls," he said.
Mr Stevens said a special thanks went to Kirsty and Dennis Ash at Strath Hill Butcher, Trent Caldis at Signmob and Mark Skinner from Skin, Ski and Surf.
The workout sessions cost $10 each. There will be a barbecue. Businesses wanting to support the cause should contact Mr Stevens on 0400 279 478.
