Resuming at 0-24 in pursuit of the Tigers’ 200 at JG Edwards Oval, the day was a run-feast for the Emus.
No player scored a century for the Emus, but they had three make at least 73, including two in the 90s.
Coming in at No.8 with the score 6-251, Shaun Cattanach was left stranded just shy of a century as he finished unbeaten on 97 to top-score for the Emus.
Shane Hamilton followed his unbeaten 87 last round against West Bendigo with a knock of 93.
And opener Brad Rowe also made his second-consecutive half-century with 73.
Rowe and Hamilton put on 150 for the second wicket, taking the score from 1-56 to 206 as they chased down their target with ease.
Despite the Emus’ total blowing out to 8-431, the Tigers did have a productive period with the ball.
At one stage the Tigers took 5-45 as the Emus went from 1-206 to 6-251.
However, Cattanach and Jarrod Henderson (38) then put on 71 for the seventh wicket.
That was followed by Khan Birtles (43) joining Cattanach for an 89-run partnership for the eighth wicket to rub further salt into the wounds of the Tigers.
In his first game in division one for the season, Cameron Davie (5-72) took five wickets for the Tigers, who bowled just four maidens in their 80 overs.
The Emus’ score of 8-431 was in stark contrast to their batting woes of round one against United when they were bundled out for just 74.
• Maiden Gully produced its best batting performance of the season, but came up short against Sedgwick at Club Court.
Chasing the Rams’ challenging 9-276, Maiden Gully answered with 238 - its first score above 170 for the season.
Simon Cole (44, three fours), Rob Brown (42, five fours) and Lachlan Mickan (32, five fours) were among five Maiden Gully players who made more than 20, while the side was also helped by 42 extras.
A massive upset loomed when the Gully had been 7-236.
However, the Gully lost its last three wickets for just two runs to dash its hopes of a first win for the season.
Jordan Ilsley (3-38), Scott McKenzie (2-31) and Alan Friswell (2-26) were the multiple wicket-takers for the Rams.
Zac Poole proved difficult to score off, finishing with 1-17 off 17 overs, including nine maidens.
• Brad Webster bowled the in-form Golden Gully to a comfortable win over Spring Gully at California Gully Oval.
Webster bagged the exceptional figures of 6-13 off 15.1 overs as the Crows were bowled out for 113 in reply to the Cobras’ 9-225.
Webster’s six wickets included five unassisted - four bowled and one lbw.
In the past two games, the all-rounder now has both a six-wicket haul and a century, having made 124 last round against Axe Creek.
In what was another disappointing batting performance by Spring Gully, which was bowled out for less than 120 for the third time this season, only captain Alex Sutton (31) made more than 20.
At one stage the Crows lost 5-0 when Travis Ely (13), Andrew Sharpe (0), Sutton, Jarrod Quirk (0) and Ankur Aneja (0) were all dismissed with the score on 76.
Golden Gully - which has now won three in a row - made a quickfire 1-48 off six overs in its second innings.
• West Bendigo produced an improved batting performance in the second innings of its game against Axe Creek at Champions IGA Oval.
Having started the day at 7-231 in reply to West Bendigo’s 122, the Cowboys added 19 more runs in making 250, with Grant Le Poidevin (92) the last batsman dismissed after resuming unbeaten on 82.
After its disastrous day with the bat on day one, West Bendigo scored 212 off 63 overs in its second innings.
The innings was led by 77 from veteran Ken Bell, while having gone into the game off the back of a century, Gary Singh made his second duck of the match.
Graham Gamble bagged 3-33 for the Cowboys to end the match with figures of 7-55 off 18 overs, while Nick Skeen’s 2-55 gave him six wickets for the game.
Shaun Stone (44 and 26) and Ben Manning (16 n.o. and 11 n.o.) were the only West Bendigo players to score in double figures in both innings.
• Mandurang maintained its unbeaten record with a 108-run win over Marong at Pearce Reserve.
The Rangas made 225 after starting the day 1-63 in reply to the struggling Panthers’ 117.
The Mandurang innings was built on an even contribution, with five players scoring between 24 and 44.
Captain Ben Rodda’s fine form continued as he top-scored with an unbeaten 44 off 74 (eight fours), with the batting depth of the side again on show when he and No.11 Mark Roberts (29 off 48, six fours) put on 63 for the last wicket.
Dean Cosgriff toiled hard for the Panthers to take 5-51 off 19 overs - all his wickets top six batsmen.
The Panthers scored 5-63 off 17 overs in their second innings.
Having made four ducks in his first four innings of the season, Nathan Matthews got off the mark to score 20 opening the batting.
