A STRAY dog found in the back streets of Castlemaine made a striking temporary companion for staff at Castlemaine Veterinary Clinic this week.
Dr Yvette Berkeley said the Siberian Husky's name was Shiloh and, while she was micro-chipped, the clinic could not get in contact with the dog's owner.
"Often we get stray dogs and call the owner, but we haven't had any luck getting through," she said.
She said Shiloh only had one eye, and suffered from a bad leg and a squiffy jaw, but made up for it all with a beautiful temperament.
Dr Berkeley said the clinic were not treating Shiloh and kept her at the clinic for a day in the hope the owner would come forward.
"She'll be at RSPCA in Castlemaine from Thursday night," she said.
Staff at the clinic said they wanted to remind pet owners about the importance of changing details such as phone numbers with the animal registry.
