With the heating beaming down on court, the second round tennis action continued to heat up on Wednesday.
Moore came out firing in her match against Shuko Aoyama, winning the first set 6-2.
But it wasn't all smooth sailing for the Aussie with the Japanese sixth seed fighting her way back into the match.
After an injury time out Aoyama was able to force the second set into a tie-break.
Despite getting off to a shaky start in the tie, Moore was able to win the set and the match.
"It probably changed the momentum of the match," Moore said of the injury time out.
"I switched off maybe, but that is the way it goes.
"I was down in the tie-breaker so I was pleased I was able to turn it around.
"I am really happy with how I performed."
In other matches, second seed and last week's Bendigo International Pro winner Eri Hozumi lost to Varatchaya Wongteanchai 7-5, 6-3.
Swede Susanne Celik defeated Ayaka Okuno 6-1, 7-5.
Top seed Misa Eguchi won against Dia Evtimova 6-4, 6-3.
Zhaoxuan Yang upset the fourth seed Nao Hibino.
She won in straight sets, the final score 6-4, 6-3.
Chinese player Fangzhou Liu needed three sets to beat Daria Gavrilova 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.
French star Alize Lim came out firing in her match against Zuzana Zlochova, winning the first set 6-1.
Zlochova was then forced to retire, which meant Lim went through to the quarter finals.
