The drug Kalydeco will reduce Amelia's symptoms of cystic fibrosis so much so that her mother says Amelia will be able to forget about her disease altogether.
The Bendigo Advertiser has followed the family's emotional journey since they first started campaigning for the drug to be made available in Australia.
It was only six months ago that Amelia's father, Tim McCrohan, said he had "basically given up".
"There are no words in the vocabulary to describe my anger," Mr McCrohan said at the time.
“There’s a human at the end of this and (Health Minister) Peter Dutton and the drug companies are playing politics over her life."

And yet, this week, the very same minister has added Kalydeco to the Pharmaceutical Benefit Scheme to be available for prescription by December 1.
It's a brilliant decision that allows the McCrohans, and many others who have been battling and praying for their sick children, to access the treatment they need.
