Villawood regional general manager Jeremy Perez has thanked everyone involved in today's celebration.
"There's a lot of people come out to have a look around,"he said.
UPDATE 12.50pm: Villawood regional general manager Julian Perez says he is delighted with today's turnout.
He says it's great to see so many people enjoying themselves.
Mr Perez confirmed the village's first resident would move in next month.

UPDATE 12.10pm: SpringGully siblings Ryan, Joel and Chloe McEniry are having a wonderful afternoon.
Their grandfather is an excavator who worked on the village and will have one of its streets named in his honour.
UPDATE 11.40am: The Bendigo SES is here handing out handy hints to homeowners.
Volunteer Darren Masters said the day provided a perfect public relations opportunity for the service.
"We're looking to educate the community about being storm ready in the home."
UPDATE 11.35pm: The crowd has started rolling in to the display village here at Strathfieldsaye.
There is plenty of free entertainment for families, including jumping castles, hairdressers, a handball competition and a sumptuous barbecue.
IMAGINE Strathfieldsaye Display Village is opening its doors to the public.
The village is hosting family fun day to celebrate the completion.
Adult-sized jumping castles, fairy floss, face painting, magicians and music are just the beginning of what is on offer.
Family activities and competitions will entertain children while the parents look through the houses.
A television and a bike will be given away later today to encourage home buyers to use the cycling paths around the estate.
The village will open from 11am to 3pm.
