Diwali, one of the most important dates on the Hindu calendar, will bring all it's light and colour to Bendigo.
The Australian Association for Indian Culture and Education will present the festival at Andrews Uniting church hall on Saturday, October 25.
AAICE chairman Amitabh Singh said the event was partnering with Bendigo businesses and groups to make the event a success.
"We endeavour to celebrate it in a bigger and better manner," he said.
"We hope to make it an iconic event of regional Victoria."
The event has previously been held in Geelong and Ballarat.
"We have had great support from the Victorian Multicultural Commission and City of Ballarat," Mr Singh said.
"We hope that this year in Bendigo will help the festival continue to grow every years."
He said the festival would be a fantastic array of cultural displays.
"We will have a variety of food and merchandise stalls along with kids activities with a roving magician and face-painter," Mr Singh said.
He said lights played a big part of the event in India, with many people decorating their houses with candles or fairly lights.
“The festival itself depicts the victory of good over evil. Light depicts knowledge and it is all about knowing different cultures,” he said.
