Bodilly, is the manager of the Uniting Care Op Shop in McCrae Street, and has been a volunteering for several years.
She has only been involved with the McCrae Street store since March, but has spent time at the Eaglehawk store and California Gully shop before it burnt down.
Mrs Bodilly, who has lived in the region all her life, said it was an easy decision to take up volunteering.
"I wanted to get involved and help out the community," she said.
"We all get a long well at the shop."
Mrs Bodilly, who describes herself as a homebody, spends three days a week at the Op Shop.
"I serve customers, help out others with whatever they are doing," she said.
"I help out in different ways."
Mrs Bodilly said the best part about volunteering is getting to know her customers.
"They are just beautiful people," she said.
"Sometimes people just want to come in and have a chat, its great."
Mrs Bodily said she would encourage others in the community to volunteer.
