Cricket legend and BDCA president Wayne Walsh said on Tuesday the city's hosting the Australia Country Championships in January would be among many highs in 2014-15.
"It's been 20 years since Bendigo hosted these titles. There will be a lot of great cricket action to watch," he said
The championships will run from January 5 to 12.
"It would be great if a couple of Bendigo players are in the Victorian team," said Walsh.
The BDCA season starts this Saturday.
"This year we have a 12-round season of nine two-day games and three one-dayers," Walsh said.
There will be no play for BDCA teams on October 25 as Carlton and Footscray-Edgewater contest a Big Bash day-night game at Queen Elizabeth Oval.
Entry to the clash is free.
"It will be a great opportunity to see Premier League cricketers here," Walsh said.
A hectic summer for the BDCA and curators includes Bendigo Country Cricket Week in January.
Round one of the Bendigo season will be one-day contests. The third XI and under-18 matches start at 8.15am. Play for the first XI and second XI teams begins at 8.15am.
