The AFL grand final will draw the attention of footy fans across Bendigo.
Butchers and pizza shops are expected to have one of their busiest weekends of the year.
Strath Hill meats owners Kirsty and Dennis Ash expect hundreds of sausage orders to be made ahead of the weekend.
"It's almost like the bounce of the grand final ball marks the start of barbecue season," Mrs Ash said.
"All our sausages are made on the premises and aside from the pork, they are all gluten-free.
"We recently won a gold medal at the Sausage King awards for our chicken, cheese and chive sausages."

She said a popular barbecue food was butterflied legs of lamb and butterflied chickens.
"People go for these sort of things because they are really easy to cook and eat," she said.
"They go well with salads."
She said steaks were also a popular product.
Eagle Boys owner Chris Rosetta said grand final day is one of their busiest days of the year.
He said delivery sales saw the biggest increase.
"We average 500 pizzas on a regular Saturday," he said.
"Grand final day we see an increase of 20 to 30 per cent."
Mr Rosetta said he would roster two extra staff on to cope with deliveries.
In the busyness of trade, Mr Rosetta said it was a great day as the staff usually sat down to watch the game together.
"We do lots of work in the lead up to the day but we do get to stop for a bit," he said.
The pre-match entertainment begins at 1pm on Channel 7 followed by the premiership decider.
Not only will the entertainment be good but the sun is forecast to be shining down all weekend long.
Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Stephen King said Saturday in Bendigo would reach a maximum of 23 degrees and 26 degrees on Sunday.
In Melbourne it will reach a top of 24 on Saturday and 28 on Sunday.
Mr King said Saturday would bring a cool morning with light winds and clear skies.
Victoria's fire agencies encourage anyone planning a Grand Final day barbecue to ensure their LP gas barbecue is in good working order before Saturday’s big clash.
