The Storm capped their meteoric rise in the BFNL on Saturday with a 55-point grand final win over Sandhurst at the Queen Elizabeth Oval.
The Storm dominated the second half of Saturday’s grand final, kicking 12 goals to four to win 20.18 (138) to 12.11 (83).
Strathfieldsaye led by just five points at half-time, but the Storm finished the game full of run as they put an exclamation mark on a season in which they won 19 of their 20 games.
The historic first senior flag for the Storm came a year after they lost the 2013 grand final to Golden Square.
Storm midfielder Shaun Everington won the Nalder Medal for best on ground.
Strathfieldsaye full-forward Sam Mildren was awarded the AFL Victoria Medal for a dominant game in which he bagged seven goals.
Storm forward Stephen Milne also six goals, with his fifth early in the last quarter his 100th of the season.
Meanwhile, in the A-grade netball, Kangaroo Flat was a comprehensive 22-goal winner over Golden Square.
The Roos won 55-33, also avenging a grand final loss of last year.
