THE family offering $4000 for the safe return of their missing kelpie received more than 30 calls on Sunday, ranging from tip-offs to messages of support.
The Wilkin family of Sedgwick put the reward on the table for anyone who could help them find their two year-old dog Jess, who disappeared between 4pm and 9pm on Friday, September 5.
Julie Wilkin said there had been a number of leads, but their energetic companion remained at large.
"There's still nothing as yet," she said.
"We just have to sift through the responses a bit. It's amazing the way in which people have been providing support.
"It's been a very good response, the whole family is so pleased with how much people have been willing to help."
The family pooled together the reward to give themselves the greatest possible chance of finding their beloved Jess, one of three on their Springs Road property.
Jess is predominantly black with tan patches and a white area on her chest.
Mrs Wilkin said the family had been "overwhelmed" with how many people had wanted to help out.
"Some people have rung up just to make sure that it's all going OK," she said.
"There have been texts as well as calls. People have been really positive."
One tip-off came from as far away as Bridgewater, while another had sent the family down to Golden Square to try and find their kelpie.
The Wilkins remained in close contact with local councils to find out whether any kelpies had been found in the region.
The $4000 was still up for grabs for anyone who could provide information that led to the discovery of Jess.
The reward was not intended to reflect the price of working dogs and the family still did not suspect she had been stolen.
Jess had formed a strong bond with the entire Wilkin family, in particular Glenn Wilkin. The kelpie stayed by his side after an accident late last year.
She was also a valuable part of the family's on-farm vermin control business, where she was a skilled rabbit hunter.
