Hulli the dog will join headspace Bendigo and the Bendigo Community Health Service on Thursday from 12pm to 4pm in Hargreaves Mall to raise awareness for R U OK Day.
The national day is about encouraging meaningful conversations with people who might be experiencing a problem.
The public are invited to the mall to pick up some information and talk with counsellors.
Headspace Bendigo manager Jenny Singe said people were often uncomfortable asking for help when they felt depressed or anxious.
She said R U OK Day was a "gentle reminder" to people to check on their mates.
Ms Singe said there were many services available to help people with mental health issues.
Hulli the dog is in training to be a therapy dog and works with clinicians at headspace during counselling sessions.
