The union is expected to deliver a greatly expanded range of locally-supported telecommunication products, including NBN, Cloud and business grade networking services to the Shepparton region.
Bendigo Community Telco board chairman Don Erskine said he was delighted with the announcement.
"Bendigo Community Telco has values very complementary to those of McPherson Media, as both companies have a strong focus on customer support, local presence and developing the skills of our own people," he said.
"We look forward to assisting the Greater Shepparton Region in increasing its competitiveness as we bring new capabilities and technologies to the traditional customer base of McPherson Media. Current customers can be assured of our commitment to the on-going support of their business, and we look forward to introducing ourselves to many new customers as well."
McPherson Media Group chief executive Damian Trezise said he was pleased with the many benefits that the partnership would bring to customers and he wanted to acknowledge the many loyal customers who have continued to support the business over the past 20 years.
"McPherson Media has been looking for some time now for a partner that could assist us in expanding its telecommunications services to the Greater Shepparton Region," he said.
"With the purchase of our company by Bendigo Community Telco, our customers will immediately receive greater access to leading edge communication capabilities while still enjoying the local support that we have been proud to deliver."
