The Tigers proved too strong for Royal Park in their semi-final at Princes Park, defeating Bushy by 43 points.
Lexton full-forward Matt Brown was the difference, booting nine goals in the Tigers’ 17.6 (108) to 10.5 (65) victory.
“It was Browny’s best game for the year and generally, we kicked the ball well to him and he capitalised,” Lexton coach Shane Fisher said.
“But in other parts of the game we turned the ball over, so we’ll have to fix that up going into next week.”
The Tigers led by 24 points at three quarter-time before finishing off with four goals to one in the final term to progress through to their fourth preliminary final in as many years since joining the MCDFL.
Brown, Michael Jennings, Nathan Barnes and Darren Jolly (two goals) were the best for the Tigers, who now take on the unbeaten Navarre in a preliminary final this Saturday.
Playing his first senior game of the season, Lexton lost Lewis Alexopoulos to a knee injury.
Zac Stewart kicked four of Royal Park’s 10 goals.
The best for Bushy - who made significant improvement this year - were William Short, Ben Clay and Oliver Schmidt.
