With a number of Australian firsts the festival is sure to impress.
The festival's founder and artistic director David Chisholm said it focused on presenting Australian and international music.
On Sunday, the festival will host a community cycling event titled Eine Brise.
It will feature 111 cyclists riding in formation at Tom Flood Sports Centre.
Karlheinz Stockhausen's Sirius concert will debut.
