Bridegroom: Brendon Knight
Wedding: April 5, 2014
The meeting
We met more than 20 years ago. Brendon and I were engaged to be married, but then we decided to go our separate ways.
Due to a job opportunity in another city, we lost contact and only reunited by social media five years ago.
We had a wonderful time reminiscing and catching up with all our old memories, and the good times we shared.
We moved in together and a year later fell pregnant with our baby boy Brock. He is a precious gift for both of us to share and came into our lives in 2010.
The proposal
On Christmas morning 2012, as the kids were opening their presents, Brendon surprised me by asking me to be his wife! We got married in April 2014.
The wedding day
It was April last year and was a beautiful day. It is a day we will both cherish forever as it was full of laughter and happy tears.
The venue was the beautiful St Martin’s Church at Muskerry, with the reception held at the Bendigo Club.
Our matron of honour was Julie Ritchie, my sister, Kristie Doherty and Casey Knight our daughters.
Our son Casey gave me away. The pageboy was Brock Knight and the flowergirl was Holly Arthur, my grand-daughter.
The bridal waltz was so lovely, in front of all our friends and family, and was an unforgettable part of the day.
The dress
I bought my beautiful dress from Belles and Bows in Eaglehawk. It was a white strapless sweet-heart neckline, with a fully-beaded bodice and full tulle skirt. The custom beading and alterations were by Dale from Belles and Bows.
The cake
Our cake was a white butter-iced three tier chocolate fudge cake, with handmade tulips on top of the cake. It was made by my talented cake queen friend Helen Boyle.
The photographer
Our gorgeous photographs were taken by Gary Priest.
The honeymoon
We went to Peppers Resort at Hepburn Springs for a relaxing stay..
