FOR many in the Bendigo Bank Pioneers team of 23, Saturday's clash with Murray Bushrangers will be the last they play in the TAC Cup football competition.
It's the final time David Newett will coach the Pioneers.
Those reasons will be a key inspiration to finish the season on a high.
The in-form Murray must win to stitch up its place in the top eight.
"We must be in the right frame of mind," Newett said.
"We must put the Bushrangers under pressure, especially in the midfield, or they will score at will," he said ahead of the end to a three-year stint as Bendigo Pioneers coach.
Bendigo and Murray do battle from 1pm at Epsom-Huntly Reserve.
The Pioneers best and fairest and awards night will follow at the venue's social rooms from 6pm.
Leading contenders for the Neville Strauch Memorial club champion award, sponsored by the Bendigo Advertiser, include Daniel Davie, Billy Evans, Tom Cole, Liam Barrett, Josh Ryan and Harry Conway.
