Bendigo police Acting Sergeant Mark Bell said officers were called to Edwards Road in Marong about 8am.
"A vehicle with a trailer lost control and the trailer lost is load onto the road," Acting Sergeant Bell said.
"It caused some traffic issues while it was cleared up."
Police were also called to a crash at Big Hill around the same time after a car lost control and ran off the road.
Acting Sergeant Bell said numerous cars had run off the road near Kyneton, but said no serious injuries had been reported.
He reminded motorists to be careful while driving in such hazardous conditions.
"The weather forecast for the next few days says there's a strong chance of instances of ice on the road," Acting Sergeant Bell said.
"People just need to be aware and drive accordingly - that means slowing down and maintaining a safe distance between vehicles
"Especially anybody over the next few days who's driving south from Bendigo - it's an area prone to ice and people need to be extra vigilant."
UPDATE 11.05AM: Police have cleared the scene of a traffic incident near Kyneton this morning.
Motorists experienced some delays around the intersection of Calder Freeway and Burton Avenue after a truck lost its road.
The road is now clear.
UPDATE 10.30AM: Mount Macedon's Cameron Drive has been closed this morning due to unsafe conditions.
Kyneton police Constable Sash Markovski said officers established a roadblock and closed the road more than an hour ago.
"The road has been closed due to ice the road, it's very slippery and numerous vehicles have come off the road," Constable Markovski said.
"It's quiet dangerous at the moment."
Top of the Ranges Tea Rooms & Gallery alerted people to the road closure on their Facebook page, saying even staff were unable to reach their venue on the mountain.
They reported some drivers were disobeying the roadblock signs.
"The road closure appears to have been forced open by visitors. I wouldn't recommend coming up Cameron Drive until it is officially open," they wrote about an hour ago.
"There are a few people driving around on the ice (in some cases on the wrong side of the road)."
At this stage there is no indication of when the road will be reopened.
UPDATE 10.15AM: Police are at the scene of a traffic incident on Calder Freeway near Kyneton.
It is believed a truck lost its load near the intersection of the freeway and Burton Avenue shortly before 10am.
Police are advising drivers to expect delays while the scene is cleared.
It is not yet known whether ice on the road was a factor in the incident.
EARLIER: Bendigo police are urging drivers to slow down after reports of black ice on the region's roads.
Acting Sergeant Mark Bell said officers had been called to several car accidents this morning.
He said police were on scene at a crash on the southbound lanes of the Calder Freeway at Big Hill.
Another car has skidded from the road on the ice and ended up in a ditch beside the Calder Freeway near the Fogarty's Gap Road intersection at Ravenswood.
"We've had numerous reports of ice on the roads and numerous accidents this morning on the Calder Freeway due to the ice," Acting Sergeant Bell said.
"It's a dangerous place to drive at the best of times, but with ice on the roads it just makes it even more difficult.
"My understanding is there have been no significant injuries ... but it's a scary situation to be in, and having to get those cars back on the roads causes traffic problems."
Acting Sergeant Bell urged drivers to be safe on the roads.
"We're asking drivers to take extra attention this morning in these icy conditions," he said.
"They need to take extra care and reduce their speeds."
