Fourth and fifth on the South East Australia Basketball League’s south conference ladder will be desperate to take the points.
Bendigo and Frankston have an identical record in the past five rounds of win, loss, loss, win, win.
The Braves played brilliantly to win last Friday’s home game against Albury-Wodonga by 16 points and then follow up with a one-point victory against Brisbane in Spartans territory.
Now the challenge for the Ben Harvey-coached Braves is to tip off another weekend double by winning at Frankston.
Braves’ forward Dustin Salisbery was in hot form as he scored 27 points against the Bandits and then 23 against the Spartans to earn the round’s MVP award.
Bendigo will again look to its front-court of Zak Atkinson, Michael Vigor and Dustin Salisbery to have a major influence in the battle with the Blues.
The task will not be easy against a Frankston attack led by Matthew Hodgson, Ben Louis and Michael McInnes.
The play of Chris Hogan, Josh Wilchert and Kevin Probert from the three-point arc could be a key factor for the Braves.
The Blues-Braves match tips off at 8pm and follows the women’s match between the ladder-leading Bendigo Lady Braves and fourth-placed Frankston.
Bendigo has a wealth of attacking power in the key or from the arc.
The latest victory at Sandringham included five players reaching double figures.
Kerryn Harrington, Lasondra Barrett, Alex Bunton, Heather Oliver, Lauren King and Jane Chalmers continue to set the standard at both ends of the court for the Jonathan Goodman-coached Bendigo Lady Braves.
Both of Bendigo’s teams are back on the Bendigo Stadium showcourt in Marong Road for Sunday's matches against Hobart.
Play tips-off at noon and 2pm.
