BENDIGO Braves forward Dustin Salisbery has captured the player of the week awards for round 17 in the South East Australia Basketball League season.

The Braves' import was in superb form as Bendigo scored crucial wins at home against Albury-Wodonga and the following night in Brisbane.

Salisbery was most valuable player in both victories.

He scored 27 points, won two points and racked up three assists in just 25 minutes of court time against the Bandits on Friday night.

In front by 20 at a quarter to go, Braves coach Ben Harvey decided to give Salisbury a rest in the last term.

The Braves won 96-80 against the Bandits.

Bendigo achieved a 79-78 victory in Saturday night's clash with Brisbane.

Salisbery's tally was 23 points, eight rebounds and an assist.

He fouled out at two minutes to play, but Salisbery had scored five points late in the fourth to give Bendigo the edge against the Spartans

Fourth on the south conference ladder, Bendigo plays at Frankston on Saturday night.

The Blues have a 10-12 record and are sixth on the ladder.

A big weekend includes the Braves' home game on Sunday against Hobart.

The Braves are home on August 9 to play Kilsyth and then travel to Mt Gambier on August 15 to face the Pioneers.
