ALISON Wonderland might be entrenched in a Los Angeles studio but she is excited to return to regional Australia in August.
The Sydney DJ played at the 2013 Grooving the Moo festival and returns to Bendigo to play at Star Bar on August 1. The show is the first of a 14-date tour.
Other towns on the docket include Dubbo, Ballarat, Cairns, Coffs Harbour and Thredbo. Spread inbetween those shows are trips for sets in New Zealand, Moldivas and Bali.
“Groovin’ was the reason I wanted to play more regional shows,” Wonderland told the Bendigo Advertiser. “It’s amazing traveling the country.”
Since GTM 2013, Wonderland has been busy releasing a five-track EP as well as playing a number of warehouse shows.
“I can’t explain (how busy I’ve been),” she said.
“I’ve released an EP, I’ve done a mix for Diplo and Friends, I’ve toured around the country in warehouses and been overseas numerous times already this year.
“It’s crazy. Intense. (Recently) I haven’t left (the studio) except to go to bed and sleep.”
Wonderland began as a classical cellist and played internationally before stepping up to the DJ decks.
Since then she hasn’t looked back and club-goers are happy about it.
So what can you expect from an Alison Wonderland house show? The DJ said there was one sure thing.
“Pretty stupid dance moves,” she said.
