The young gun will tee-off at the Neangar Park Classic this Sunday.
Ruffels, a member of the Victoria Golf Club, is building an impressive golfing resume having won the 24th Emirates Australian Junior Open and the Ten Nations Cup last year.
He was also runners-up in the Thailand World Juniors and San Diego Junior Masters in 2012 and finished seventh at the Callaway World Juniors.
Ruffels finished inside the top 25 at last year's Australian Open and is a member of the Australian Junior Squad.
Neangar Park Golf Club officials are rapt the youngster will play at the tournament.
Sixteen-year-old Zach Murray will also take part in the tournament.
He is the youngest male to win the Victorian Amateur Championship.
Lucas Herbert will also tee-off in the Classic. He is poised to win the Neangar Park Club championship for the third year in a row.
The Neangar Park Classic is aligned with Golf Victoria under the Ivo Whitten banner.
About 70 golfers from across the state are expected to take part in the event, with most players having a handicap better than two.
Late tournament entries are been taken.

The competition will be played over 36 holes.
The first round of action will begin at 7.30am on Sunday at the Averys Road course in Eaglehawk.
